We handle legal matters relating to recovery of debts. We file civil suits and obtain interim reliefs seeking attachment of property before judgement (if the assets are identified beforehand).  For our clients, who have claims under an agreement, which contains an arbitration clause, we initiate the arbitration proceedings and file the claim before the arbitrator or arbitration panel and successfully pursue the claims and follow up recovery by filing execution proceedings.

The Limitation Act, 1963 prescribes a maximum period of three years to file legal proceedings for recovery of a debt. Prior to the initiation of legal proceedings, a written legal demand is usually issued by a lawyer (though not compulsory) demanding the payment of the outstanding amount due, along with agreed upon interest, if any.  Most debt recovery suits between private parties, whether companies or individuals, revolve around sale of goods against invoices or seeking to recover debts due under loan agreements.  Other instances may involve dues payable to a party in a contract by another party.

For debts due to banks and other financial institutions, we file necessary legal proceedings before the Debt Recovery Tribunal under The Recovery of Debts Due to Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 1993.
